(COMMERCIAL) Sloppy Jalopy still operating?
« on: 14 June 2013, 03:33:40 PM »
Are they still in business? I have sent 2 emails to them this week and have not had a response. Are they on a break? Site hasn't been updated since 2011.  :(

Haven't heard anything different and would be very surprised if they had gone away. I expect a holiday or real life has intervened.

They last posted on their fb page on 26 May for an upcoming release (a cricket team sculpted by Bill Thornhill) - maybe as DD suggests, they're on holiday?

They are still going. They sent me four 1/56 Ferrets a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks guys. And particularly Carlos, that is encouraging to someone on the same continent. Did you order through the UK or ROTW link/email address?

The Sloppy Jalopy chaps are also the Partizan show organisers, so they might be trying to relax after that and forgetting to look at e-mails.

The ROTW option. It took a little while to get their attention, I tried both email addresses listed on the website but once they had my email service was fairly swift. My only, minor, criticism would be their method of packaging. Sending resin and metal kits with small, breakable items, loose, in blister packs isn't optimal in my view. Two out of the four require some running repairs, fortunately nothing major. They'd do well to take a leaf out of the book of other manufacturers like Imprint, FoA or Promod. Still I'm happy with my purchases and would buy from them again.

Thanks, Carlos M, I shall sit back & wait then. My order is only metal figs, so packaging shouldn't be an issue.

The answer is definitely YES and my Gangster Passengers and Drivers arrived yesterday. They are really nice figures, most impressed, well worth the wait for contact.
