Here's a few detail shots of the Leviathan Crusader.

And a shot of some officers.

It's time I started on some Darkest Africa for a bit... I'm a figure painting butterfly  ::)

a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Finally! :D

The Leviathan looks impressive, and I rate it as your best piece so far :) But I spot some terrain, and I'm curios to see some pics of that. If possible :)

I'm not a huge fan of the model but your painting and weathering is stunning!

It wasn't until the last set of pictures that I even noticed that this model comes with twin guns along the torso.  I really wish this guy had come with two hands instead of silly weapons - the biggest drawback to the kit.  Though it'd be easy enough to kitbash with a similarly large Japanese anime mecha of some sort.

Yep, not for everyone. The kit comes with the arms seen above. There will be 7 new weapon arms coming available some time in Sept.

But I spot some terrain, and I'm curios to see some pics of that. If possible :)

Which terrain did you mean? I worked pretty ferociously to get some sci-fi stuff done for the Dreamforge shoot. Not all of it was complete in time, but here's a couple more shots.

The industrial chemical tanks are foamcore bases with tanks from seasonal plastic globe Coke bottles:

Welding seams were made with thin lines of fabric 'puffy paint'. They were primed gray/rust and then weathered with the 'hairspray and salt' method. I've jazzed them up a bit since that shoot. I'll get some more pics next time I get some sci-fi figures completed.

The green-gray buildings with yellow doors are from Proxie Models:

Proxie Models Pre Fab

They're relatively inexpensive kits, and if painted up they're neat looking, although they're not what I'd call easy to put together. They have butt joints and some odd things going on, like the corner pieces. They have a solar panel included. I spruced mine up with a couple pieces from the Hirst Arts Sci-Fi machinery molds. The pre-fabs needed some kind of heating/cooling ;)

The little pipes with numbers are Ainsty, purchased a LONG time ago. The other cargo tanks are two plastic bottle caps glued together. I think Roebeast came up with that idea, maybe?

The garage I made quite a long time ago, for zombie games. It's pretty much a foamcore box. There's some decals I printed on the wall, and some toolboxes and stuff that I think came from Armorcast.

The Jersey barriers are Armorcast as well, bought more recently. They needed a bit more cleanup and drilling of holes, and I added a paper clip on top to represent a metal crane loop. Any excuse to do rust effects now ;)

I think that's about it?

Good enough for me!  :D It's always inspiring, and intersting on the different takes on finishing projects, and this is the first time I've seen anyone focusing on the terrain first, and the start to look around for suitable minis :)

Thanks, Matt!

I'd seen the 28mm buildings on eBay, but hadn't been finding them on his shop. He gives small discounts to stores, and I've been meaning to work up another order. We've got some of the 15mm stuff as terrain, assuming TW or something gets going.

One the lads assembled them; didn't complain TOO much, but I could see they'd be challenging.

I remember seeing Roebeast using smaller caps for wheels, but nothing like these. They're smashing!

Whose ever idea, well done!

I almost forgot while watching the inspiring set-ups; those pj's are lovely! :-*
I've been adding the kits in my online carts for a while, and your efforts have swayed me from 'save for later' to 'buy now' :)

I didn't forget to tell him; I just figure he's getting spoilt on my gushing as it is.  ;)

However, I almost did forget: ditto. But I'm an anthropomorphic machine hater from way back. Still, Matt's work almost makes me ignore my own history... lol
