Benbow, I recognize the suicidal fellow as RAFm but where are the others from. They are all fascinating.

Alright, here it goes:

Prof. Dr. Wotan Runenberg: Grenadier Nightmares 618 Mad Scientists

Grandpa Ludvig, the Brain: Grenadier Nightmares 618 Mad Scientists

Horatio, manic-depressiv son: RAFM CoC 2902 Professor

Hekla von Runenberg: Ral Partha Ravenloft 11-123 Ivana Boritsi

Franz-Wotan, a failed experiment: Ral Partha Ravenloft 11-122 Frantisek Markov

Shmoo, Hekla's "dog": RAFM CoC 2923 Dimensional Shamblers

Picking the figures from my lead pile and arranging a nice consistent family portrait was real fun, preparing them for my custom made bases was a nightmare as most of them come with very thick integrated bases. Removing those without damaging the feet of the minis was a real challenge, especially when it came to Shmoo: all four limbs were broken during the process and had to be completely resculpted, a new tail was added on top. And please keep in mind that those miniatures are true 25 mm ones, they will not easily fit in with, for example, Artizan Pulp figs.

The bases were custom made to represent parquet floor: very thin pieces of veneer were epoxied to some coins (from Ex-Jugoslavia ...), cut out and filed smooth after curing and then varnished with 6 coats of gloss varnish, sanding in between each coat to get a very smooth and glossy surface.

No problem Grimm, it's no shame to get a kicking from work like this

This is terrible. By voting for one entry I'm doing the other entry wrong... But the liquid in that glass is my little and more than pathetic excuse.

I'm a bit surprised as how clear the votes prefer the Runebergs. They are great, but the flesh tones on the african natives are amongst the best blendings I've seen. And yes, i think they surpas even the Profs negros.

I think we discussed this in a similar thread during last season and many members seemed to agree that theme and setting may be as influential to their votes as painting skill. I am definitely in that camp. Wargaming is in my mind a sort of story telling (to use a fad analytical term) and, simply put, the Runeberg Family tells more of a story in this match.

That said I think Bugsda's team is wonderful and is everything I hope to achieve in my own painting.
