Nice Thraex!  I've just painted that very miniature, except for the shield, and really like your use of the gryphon, and may copy it for him or one of my other gladiators that still needs a shield emblem.

Love to see other people's rendition of those Crusader minis. And yours are always of great inspiration. :)
Should've used a flat shield on my Thraex as well – freehands for the win. Love the clear lines you're able to pull off there.

From a purely selfish point of view, you couldnt have timed this project better.
I have recently been led astray in this direction by a couple of other LAFfers, so anything you produce will provide some wonderful inspiration.

He was a Black Tree Design Hoplite but I thought he would be a good gladiator, so he is a Hoplomachus now.
