Iron Mask Minis Kickstarter (dwarf and ogre musketeers)
« on: 08 July 2013, 08:22:57 AM »
Iron Mask Miniatures is trying to launch a range of golden age style dwarf (and ogre) musketeers, sculpted by John Pickford.

Some of the bits (like the separate heads) will even be compatible with my own private range, also done by John.  ;)

And the Cardinal's ogres are lovely too, in the old Marauder style:

Those Ogres are so great :-* :-* :-*

- but so are the dwarfs. and not only hands sits well on your dwarfs. Heads are certainly a great alternative, too ;)

Very nice.

But for some reason I don't see Ogres as the fencing types lol The halberds will work well though...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Puts me in mind of Lace & Steel.  Showing my age here - it was an RPG game produced in 1989 by TAAG, an Australian company, with great art by Donna Barr.  Set in a fictionalized 17th century Europe, with demi-human races alongside the humans.  Picture Centaurs and Satyrs dressed like 17th century gentlemen/women (at least above the waist), and male and female harpies (the females are bigger and more aggressive, but dress like human women!).

I hope this is successful but personally I would just like two or three dwarves with rapiers to paint.

Meanwhile, here's the concept art for some stretch goals for the kickstarter: dwarf cardinal and dwarf king.

Damn, dwarf musketeers.  Evil, sir, you are evil, tempting me like that...

How tall are the dwarf figures (top of head, please) if I may ask...

Gracias,

Glenn

They are not mine, so I don't know exactly, but I believe they are the same size as mine, so the same size as marauder dwarfs.

I am not familiar with marauder figures, can you give me a ball park estimate, please?

Gracias,

The Iron Mask mini samples I got are about 19mm sole to eye and 23-25mm to top of hat (depending on the hat).

Just noticed something a tad odd...

The full set of 8+2 dwarfs plus the four ogres are $120

The full set of 8+2 dwarfs only are $60

The full set of 4 ogres only are $59.

So... its $1 more expensive to buy the entire set than buying the components?  Am I missing something?
