That open/grill top looks like a good solution for visibility and light. I presume you're keeping it like that?

Nice work!

Looking good - I also like the roof for the beautiful.

Thank you for the compliments.

The grid on top is staying. It took me a couple hours to make that grid, so it's definitely staying. (Those are individual square rods of plastic, glued into the cut outs in the roof section.) I plan to put some transparent plastic behind it once the painting is done. My inspiration for the roof was Blade Runner, where you see the blimp passing over the Bradbury Building, from the inside. I did consider making a peaked roof, but that would have been a project all by itself.

Fantastic work, my friend. I can't wait to see this on the table in a few weeks.

Update time. Here is the base of the first block. It took me a couple tries to get the cement color right. The first time I did it it came out looking like grey speckled camouflage. I've changed the road section slightly by using reflective tape for the stripes, instead of the painted version I had before. This was an idea I borrowed from Mike Pennock. (who really should be showing his off terrain too.)

There are also two street light fixtures I built this week. I had planned to make a few more, but I only have enough street light pieces to make one more, and they are such a pain to make that I'm gonna wait for a while to get that last one done. Anyway, here is one of them up close.

And finally I have a test shot of this block with some buildings and vehicles on it. It's looking pretty sparse at the moment. More to come.

Looks great, elements like street lights really help 'set the scene'.

Truely beautiful! I think the effort on the lights was worth it.

That's a piece he put together from a toy train and some spare components. He wrote about it back on page 3.

Thank you everyone. I hope to have the Gibson building (the tall red one in the wide shot) finished this week, as well as the Ellison (the one with the open back from an earlier post). I still have some character figures that need attention before Rock-Con in two and a half weeks, so it's definitely crunch time.

Ok a streetlamp how to?  :D

I just might do that. I do have materials for one more.
