WIP champions - Perry/fireforge body swap added
« on: July 16, 2013, 10:07:14 AM »
Well i've built so many of these figures and still getting ideas for them! Thought i'd share my latest creations, a couple of champions for my new Dux Brit forces (for my alternate medieval setting, difficult to find these in 5th century Britain!).

Very nice, I love the posing. A pair of very capable looking killers there.  8)

Very nice! I especially like the second one, that helmet looks really cool.

Nice figures.  Are you going to use them in an 'Excalibur' film style setting or a real medieval setting?

Excellent poses Max.
There is no end to the versatility of these figures  :)
Now to just wait for the next two sets!

Cheers guys, feel free to use the poses of course, a recent build is insipired by Painterman's banner bearer for his Burgundian force!

Nice figures.  Are you going to use them in an 'Excalibur' film style setting or a real medieval setting?

They're for my 'Norvarje' world, the top champion is a Kaliad, the bottom one is a Runissian. It's based on 14th century Europe and i use Dux Britanniarum for the games.

I got my hands on some fireforge cavalry recently, and, being a converting mad man who loves to cut up innocent plastic figures, i swapped one body with a Perry mounted man-at-arms. Painterman, you might recognize the work on the left arm slightly...

A noble, hence the fancy plate, Perry body on fireforge groin and legs. The horse is a fireforge on with a Perry head (a real mix up here  o_o)

The other one, fireforge body on Perry legs, with the surcoat lengthened to cover damage and look good.

Went a bit mental with swapping bodies and made these:

Lovely figures and I keep getting tempted by these plastic Perry figures. Don't know much about the period but they all look so nice.
But Dux Brittanairum is the biggest hit with our clubmembers ever with 2 separate multi-player campaigs running simultaneously.
Imagine what will happen when the Raider supplement comes out!

All this means I'm of course VERY interested in your 14th C setting. What changes did you make to the original values?

Thanks WillieB. I didn't make many changes, mainly for crossbows and pavises and increased ranged weapons.

For crossbows, i say it takes a turn stationary to reload their weapons, but re-roll 1's on the effects table to represent their hitting power. Pavises can be used either as an obstacle, or cover while reloading.
I made other small changes, mostly to the career paths and backgrounds though.

On my blog i made a page called 'Dux Britanniarum in the 15th century', you can have a look to get some inspiration. I've only dealt with the battle rules so far, but for my Runissia setting i've done fate cards, backgrounds and career paths, hoping to give them a spin soon.
