Chioggia 1378-1381 - Figures?
« on: July 17, 2013, 07:20:41 PM »
Quick question - anyone know whether the Perry Medieval Italians would be suitable for the War of Chioggia (1378-1381)? Not that I need another new project, but I'm in the middle of reading Crowley's 'City of Fortune' and the conflict has piqued my interest.

Any other suitable figures? Seem to be a lot of 28s for C15th onwards, quite a few for pre C14th, but none specifically for Late C14th - is that because others would also be suitable? 1st Corps/Kingmaker maybe?

Thanks
Rob

I too had trouble finding minis for this period. You could use the Perry agincourt figures, but not all of them. Avoid the 'white armour' ones and faulds (lames, the groin armour) and go for pig faced bascinets.

Some of the Kingmaker 100 years war figures might work, haven't seen them all but from what i've seen some would be usable.
Foundry do some medievals, but earlier 14th century, perhaps useful for the lower men at arms.
Claymore castings are for that sort of era i believe, you could have a look at those.

I might remember some other figure ranges so i'll comment if they come back to me.

The front rank 100 years war range contains figures for this period and the clamore castings range is specifically for this era but they may be a bit 'hairy' for italians!
