I preferred the cute look of the original Ed209 to this 'straight from the concept robots blog' Ed 209 in the remake... but it is a good mech design and fits the up-date better than the old style one would have.

The new Robocop design looks like a bloke in riot gear. It doesn't scream 'cyborg' to me but I guess that, seeing as he is supposed to be a police officer, the more human he looks, the better. And British bobbies wear black... moreso when in riot gear/anti stab gear. I think the new look of robocop could be improved with some more visible police markings/checks/stripes etc but apart from that, black is fine.

The materials thing is pretty irrelevant to me. I've seen videos of laminates that have more defensive capabilities than steel and there are ceramics, fabrics and even stuff like transparent aluminium that is much better than bullet proof glass that is five times thicker... and that is all in the present.

Can you imagine the stopping power of 'future' Kevlar type materials?

Brace yourselves, jokes about ED's inability to descend stairways are coming :P

In the future, they have a thing called ELEVATORS.   I think they'd have moved the original one to the boardroom FROM the Security Concepts labs via a freight elevator or something.

In my future world, it would be smart enough to use one.
As well as having a 'remote call' function for it (no fingers to press the 'call' button).

I hope we get to see that . What with the piped musak , and the other passengers pretending normality whilst trying to avoid eye contact with it , You have a seat-gripping piece of cinematography on your hands .

Put some points on the top of his head and give him a cape, the new Robocop could pass as Batman.

Will it be set in Detroit?  Not much population left there to police.

But Detroit has just gone bankrupt, so it makes sense for a commercial company to take over it. >:D

Yeah I feel sorry for the people in Detroit. That city's been losing ground for forty years. Maybe now they'll actually change some stuff.

I don't know why they redesigned Robocop. The two prototypes in Robocop two were pretty much perfect.  lol

The actually filmed the new Judge Dredd film there...and they didn't even use extras, or CGI, or props.  They gave the actors real firearms and let them clean house.

*tsk tsk tsk*

Just wanted to correct you all. It's 'ED 260'.

And, I've got the original cap gun toy to prove it!  lol
