I've had 12 of these guys kicking around the depths of the "to do" pile for about 6 years (bought 'cos I was convinced that half way through reading Mark urban's "Fusiliers" I'd get the undeniable urge to paint AWI 23rd Fusiliers...never happened). I had 2 and 1/2 painted, then lost interest.

However, Muskets and Tomahawks is currently on the go at the local club, and to reinforce the recoats, I decided to get these finished. OK, so they're slightly late for the French and Indian War (and the Royal Welch Fusiliers didn't serve in North America in that conflict, but what the Hell), but 12 just so happens to be the exact number needed for a unit of regulars, and I'll find no other use for them otherwise...

Figures are Perrys, flag by Flags of War. I'm currently using a camera phone for pictures, cos my proper camera's knackered, so have ended up doing a lot of remedial work on the computer. Unfortunately, I got a bit carried away doing the saturation in the first picture, but here goes...

The shading on the white trousers is horrendously over done, but to keep a consistent look with the figures, I've just stuck to (or at least tried to replicate) the same technique I was using then, for the sake of uniformity.

I can actually paint white.

Cheers
Iain.

Well done the F.I.Wars is a favourite of mine , you have a nice clean painting style. I,ve also read "Fusiliers " and enjoyed it and can recommend his "Rifles " set in the Peninsula War. Look forward to further posts.

Cheers, Belisarius! Yup, I'd picked up "Fusiliers" on the strength of "Rifles", the Peninsular campaign's more my bag than AWI...

Very nice - the reds and whites are popping.

Cheers, Von Lucky!

The white's a bit less subtly shaded than usual (trying to match the way the first two were painted 6 years ago...) but they've worked out OK!

Finally got the last two figures in the regiment finished...

And thus the regiment is finished. Probably much to the relief of the nextdoor neighbours, who are doubtless fed up of the endless loop of "The Britishe Grenadiers" and The Last of The Mohicans theme tune...

Now, it's on with the 20mm BAOR, and teaching the neighbours to love "99 Luftballons" and "Two Tribes"...! ;D

Cheers

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind comments. Flags are by Flags of War, I can only take credit for sticking them together!

Awesome job..now can those pretty boys fight? Every unit I have ever taken that extra care with has always performed like a bunch of Dandies! My old Minifigs and scrubys are still my rocks of the battlefield...but again WoW great job.
