Greetings from Darkest Tanzanica
« on: 08 May 2008, 05:08:16 PM »
Hello all, just ran across this excellent forum the other day and thought I should join up. I am a long time gamer and run two gaming related sites, one is for my regular gaming group, we have been gaming together for over 25 years with the same core members, The Monday Night Adventurers. The other site is my Colonial version of Necromunda, Tanzanica. Tanzanica is sadly out of date, I have a long running back burner project to bring it up to date, but it is still a fairly busy site and there are still groups playing that I hear from now and again. Anyhow, this is a very active site on gaming periods I am interested in and I look forward to participating. Great avatar icons by the way, some of those explorer photos are hard to find!

Oh, so you're one of the persons behind Tanzanica? Or perhaps the person behind those rules? Welcome aboard sir; I have to say that your site (helped by this forum) sparked my interest in getting into colonial gaming!

Tanzanica was developed by myself with help from my gaming group and we ran a campaign for several years with it. Our group is very much a skirmish group with a role playing background, we all started with D&D in the 70s, then moved into historicals during the 80s. Currently we are running GWs Dark Heresy role playing game, but we have French Foreign Legion, WWII, Pulp, 40k, Viking and Back of the Beyond all on the boil as well. Glad you enjoyed Tanzanica, I really do need to get the more modern version up as an option one of these days. Not enough time in the day..

Welcome to the forum!  I have recently posted a query on the Colonial thread, seeking advice on sources for using GW's "Legends of..." rules to do Darkest Africa.  I've been to the Tanzanica site several times and plan to use your work as a basis for character stats for our games.  Nice to have you here!

Good to have you here.

I think your creation helped me move along toward the 'adventure / expedition' gaming.

Good work.
