I've decided to include some of the Heresy 'leaping lurkers' (foul dungeony things) as one of the things found in my game 'Mad Scientists of the Swastika' for Fall In this weekend.

Can someone give me a German translation - preferably something Pulp Nazi rather than what actual, everyday Germans would use, if there were leaping lurkers about your neighbourhood.

I think 'springende Schleicher' would be correct, but Pulp-Nazis wouldn't use anything like 'leaping lurkers'. They would prefer something more gothic, germanic, eg. from the Sagas of old. Why not call them 'Grendels' like in Beowulf?

Hi,
hardly to translate. But with Teutonic efficency we will help you. Here is my proposal :

Hüpfende lauerer is the word by word translation. Doesnt make much sense to me. So I would offer

Springteufel !

Cuz you wanted something demonic in it and Teufel is Devil and with SPRING you have the typical rolling R in Spring ( which means JUMP ).

All the German combat verhicles were listed with SdKfz followed by a number
and a nickname.

SdKfz means Spezial motorized Unit/vehicle.

So all the monsters in your game can have a code like:

SdoKe 15 "Springteufel"

SdoKe is Sonder organische Kampfeinheit = Special organic combatunit

Thats great! I wanted to land some of those Heresy Lurkers for a similar project....

Although I want to use mine for the Luftwaffes "Gremlin" force...I was going to attach rockets to thier backs so they can attack Spitfires in midair!
