Egyptian Terrain Inquiry: Pulp Alley
« on: September 05, 2013, 06:08:03 PM »
He Folks,

After receiving my copy of Perilous Island and doing a quick read thru, Jet and I are quite exited to do the campaign. But before we do we would like to have the terrain ready for each scenario. After some discussions I decided to build a new gaming board and focus on a Egyptian Desert theme.

I only had a quick few minute to peruse the web and came across a few sites, armorcast, scobor miniatures, etc. I figured I would go to the heart of the pulp gaming community and see if anyone had any recommended sites I should check out.

Cheers,

Tenz

I second Anpu: Scotia Grendel has a good catalogue that could provide several Egyptian sets. On the other hand, if you want an more extensive oportunity to build gaming tables, Hirst Arts has excellent molds

Fenris Games also does some useful stuff.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

do not pass up looking at your local pet store, i have found some really great aquarium terrain such as sphynx and obelisks that really dont need much work done on them, and are usually under $20.

I second this, I have gotten all sorts of good pulp terrain from pet stores and don't forget the aquarium section of Walmart;
I got these there for $11-8 each. They are waiting for my pulp game to shift continents before getting a quick repaint.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the quick replies. I never thought about Aquarium decor. I'll have to investigate further. I did come across some nice items on Armorcast, but I am still looking. Keep the recommendations coming :-)

Cheers,

Go to EBay. Type in Egypt. All categories. Then Used. (Second hand) Then select your country only (That way you save on postage costs)

After try 'Egyptian', and do it all again.  ;)

Aquarium terrain rocks! It's ready to play right "out of the box".

Egypt and Ancient Greece are THE two themes where the aquarium stuff excells.

My favourite is the range by Europet Bernina (28mm figure for reference):

I've got a butt load of little resin statuettes, about 6" high, that I bought years back with pie-in-the-sky notions of making my millions. Take them off my hands, please!

Lots of great suggestions.

I think Armorcast, Hirst Molds, and Scotia Grendel covers most of our stuff as well. And the aquarium pieces have been on the wish-list for quite some time.
