Here is what they have said:
http://www.heroquestclassic.com/a-dark-dungeon-where-the-heroes-can-shine/

There is also a picture of the board itself.

They stated:
a double-sided board with the classic dungeon on one side and a new ruined terrain witha completely different design and distribution on the other. We will talk about this second scenario next week, for now we will focus on the A side, the one you all know.

Next to this:
one of the first optional add-ons we will offer you in the future (fingers crossed) will be the gameboard splitted up into individual rooms, corridors and corners. The limit is yours to decide.

The board will have no surplus edge, so you can easily put two or more next to eachother or use extra room on the side istead of on top of. Or even use decent, AHQ, WHQ or whichever you have...

As long as they manage to get the product out, even under a completly different name if neccesary, I'll be happy. No matter i the game is too simple or not, I just want it as an introductionary game for my son :)
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

There is also the option of just getting rid of their rules and using the olde HQ ones as an intro game and using fan created rules for a more balanced game.

Actually, this is what they have said about the modular board (no official English version yet, translation is mine):

Quote
Modular Board(22 euros). Contains 23 rooms and 28 corridors. All pieces are double-sided, one face identical to side A of our Alpha Board (the one in the box) and the other one with a brand new design different from Alpha Board side B.

I haven't checked in on this in a while (don't really have the cash at all).  I'll likely pick up a copy when it's released.  Shame, a while back I had the money, but then it failed for too long before getting running.

Regarding the rules...you don't need much experience to make a relatively simple dungeon crawl board game.  While I don't plan on backing the crowd-funding project at the moment, I still don't see the huge amount of angst here.  You don't want the game or the support the company, don't?   lol

Funding this one again has scared the crap out of me, but I've got to admit, that is a very nice sculpt.  well thought out, very busy, perfectly fitting the theme.

Well, I took the plunge and got in on this program.

I'm starting a dungeon project, and the idea of a load of minis and terrain for "reasonable" was too good to pass up.  Time will tell how bad of a decision this may or may not be.  The current pledge for US customers is $194 shipped for the "everything" pledge.

Box
-46 miniatures
-46 terrain pieces

Unlocked
-15 additional hero miniatures
-16 additional monster miniatures
-22 additional terrain pieces

And of course the boards, cards, yada yada.  I'm not overly concerned about that stuff.  My main concerns are plastic resin material (booo!) though some here have said Gamezone minis are quite reasonable in that regard.  I used money that I made at a local convention and ebay...so if it all goes tits up and disappears I'll be angry, but not miserable.  If the product arrives and I don't like it, I'll sell it on, or keep it around and use it as intended (a simple board game) when my nephew comes of age.  He's only six right now, should need another year or two.

The $50 shipping fee is apparently turned into a coupon for use at Gamezone's Hero Quest online store (supposedly launching December 2014).  As a whole, I'm very "ehhh..." about the prospect, but worth a try I suppose.

11 days to go, but I don't imagine any large unlocks coming.  The current program is only at $700,000 which is far less than a full length Kickstarter would have been the first go round.

You and me both  :D

For me it's also dungeon dressing as well as the hope of playing this with my son in give or take eight years... so it's not a big problem if the project gets a bit of a delay either  ::)

Anyhow so far the box looks like a good deal.

They have posted an article about the plastic resin they use with some examples:

IMO looks far more detailed than Reaper's plastic.

Here you are the article: http://www.heroquestclassic.com/plastic-resin-what-is-it-and-why-do-we-use-it/

While still a matter of some contention, this program has entered the always-interesting final week.  I misspoke earlier, it seems to have around $600,000 or so.

The unlocks may begin rolling quickly here, so it's always entertaining to watch that even if you have no stake in the matter.

Latest unlocks:

-Stone Guardian
-Ruined doorways
-Additional spell cards

I hope that act 3 gets funded, each act seems to be an expansion pack basically with act 2 being an undead/vampire one. I'd like to see a demon expansion.

I don't think the "act" has to be fully funded.  I think the revealed items are unlocked.  I'd be pissed if they're only unlocking an act if it is fully revealed.

The two latest:
-Mole Troll
-Pair of Magical Doors

It is gaining slow momentum.  I don't believe it'll be a huge rocket surge though, given the heaps of controversy.

I think that between the end of crowdfunding and the estimated delivery of the finished work, someone will claim the IP. And something will go wrong ... so I believe.

Nobody can challenge their rights in Spain and since the game is produced there and the crowfunding platform is based there, I think they're good to go.

On the other hand, distribution in other countries may be difficult. But if you buy it from Spain, I doubt you have any issues other than higher than usual shipping cost.
