I wish i'd backed this now.before i had just dismissed heroquest as a silly piece of nostalgia, but having got my copy i'm in love with it, but don't wait to paint my copy.

However, if these guys bring out expansions fort he game and the core box retains the same rules, i will throw money at them because no way am i paying ebay prices for the old expansion packs.
never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

Old expansion packs are ridiculous, especially the american versions! Luckily when I got this, between my brothers and I we managed to pick up all the expansions (excluding american ones). I've got 2 sets of heroquest original as well. Actually I'm playing through it with my 5 y/o son. He kind of gets it but just likes rolling the dice and bashing my baddies.  lol

My only beef is that communication has been very limited.  I haven't received emails from them since around the final week of the crowd-funding campaign, though sporadic updates have appeared on their website.

Because Gamezone is an established company I'm still comfortable with the purchase, but I prefer when a big kickstarter event is successful that we get updates to know it's still flowing along.  Unfortunately I was buying a lot of dungeon monsters and baddies and I kept forgetting that I have the 90+ figures for this game coming with it.  If they're good enough to use they'll end up painted in my dungeon.  If not, I'll retain the game for playing with the buddies and my nephew.  He's seven and smart as a whip, so I'm thinking he'll be ready in a year or two to concentrate enough to get a game in every now and then.

I haven't been able to find one on ebay for less than 30 quid , which isnt too bad, but the rarer ones are in the mid hundreds!!! plus i'm not sure i want to pay that much for 10 figures and a bunch of tiles that come with the core box.i'll have to make do with the pdf's.

Exactly, I'm sure it would be easy enough to find copies of the extra tile designs online (ye olde inn is a good place to start) and just print them onto card stock or paper glued onto card. The rare ones are ridiculously priced (for me that is)

There are a lot of talented sculptors out there, so we'll just have to have faith that the product will be worth the money in the end.  I don't particularly care who sculpts the miniatures as long as they're not garbage.  Time will tell.

My Robotech Kickstarter pledge was based on a nothing-proven promise...so far they're looking pretty good on the production side.  Only time will tell when they show up if it was really worthwhile.

 :o

Anyway, can anyone here speak Spanish? Pha3drus is looking for some help in translating their latest video.

I have seen only a few minutes before to get tired of it (i'm not  a backer) but one of the most shocking things is the guy telling they don't want to provide info about the development because they want to keep the "surprise factor" for the backers when they open the box in xmast. To provide information about the development they call it "spoilers".
I don't doubt they have good will regarding this, but IMHO they prove (once more) to don't understand how the crowdfunding systems works. You can't grab people's money and simply disappear for one year, despite you will deliver them the best product in the world on time. In the meantime the lack of information could be so damaging that will completely burn the patience of your backers and makes futile this "surprise effect".

They have definitely been extremely quiet...however there is quite a bit of art on display - so if it translates into anything decent in miniature form, we'll see.

I speak Spanish and i've watched the video.

Some facts I remember:

- box will be massive, twice as long as a warhammer one and taller and all full of goodies.
- they are considering an innotive design for dices with irregular sides. the smaller sides with lower probability will have the special results (fumble / critics).
- Spiders are 30 mm tall.
- knight comes with to set of arms, one when he is chained to the wall and another when he's free.
- The Game Master screen has a "hole" in the front part to throw the dices. KS edition screen will be different from regular (later) edition.
- the reasons for the secrecy, besides trying to keep the "surprise factor" is that the deadline is very close and they simply don't have the time to discuss every design.
- there is a beta of the rules and it will be playtested by several groups this summer.
- Scenarios will be playable with the basic box contents, but they will include suggestions to use other items from the strech goals.
- the setting so far is a region called the Coast of the Dead Cities, old massive cities partially taken by the sea full of nasty creatures and treasures.
- doors can be opened. Aparently they come with a sort or rails to slide the door in and out.
- the huntress design has a real yet curious weapon. To design the miniatures they've used real world things mixed in a brand new way. Mummies for example are based on some South American real ones.
- They're doing their best to add a sense of depth in some traps despite they are almost flat (pits and so).
-There will be expansions with more detailed rules and so.
- They are absolutely commited to yhe delivery date.

And that's all I can remember.

The guy could certainly improve his social skills, but he's a perfectionist and I think the game is in good hands.
