this is @Michi's Doreen - lok it uo on the forum, he must have quite some pictures posted
as I said, ebay might be Your friend, plus Playmobil usually recycles it's ship moulds many times

Michi's Doreen is always worth a look.

Thanks to all. Having seen the "Doreen" I've decided to go for the Playmobil option & convert the superstructure - a reasonably sized model at not too silly a price.

Reviresco does a VERY nice paper model of a tramp steamer in both 15mm and 28mm. These are mixed media kits with paper, doweling, metal parts that need to be painted, and work very well with most 28mm and 15mm figures. If you have no experience with paper models this might put you off at first. Don't worry. Just take your time and it will look great! Reviresco also produces other ship kits that would work very nicely for the pulp era as well.
