1830s Gunmen in 28mm
« on: 18 September 2013, 12:28:51 AM »
I am looking for gunmen and characters for around the 1830s, so flintlocks or percussion guns.
I have Artizan's Alamo figures, Boot Hills figures, Foundry's Texas Rangers but am looking for more.
The game is set along the Republic of Texas and Arkansas border and will be along the style of the British Border Reivers.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Take a look also at Foundry's Mexican collection, particularly the Mexican Peons (OW16/1 and OW16/5) and the Mexican villagers for Tex-Mex civilians, and OW 27/7 Mexican Irregulars

A few of the Foundry Rocky Mountain Rendezvous packs might work (look at OW 7/6 and especially at OW 8/3).

I can't think of any other than the ones you have mentioned. :?

There are some of Foundry's "Scalp Hunters" and "Filibusters" if they still go under those titles, but I can't think of any others.

Maybe just buy extra sets from Boot Hill  :)

TVAG http://www.thevirtualarmchairgeneral.com/210-bhoysfigs.html and Brigade games have a few for the 1840s that should work.

Look for Napoleonic Spanish Guerilla's (also useful for Zorro/Alamo  ;) ).

Front Rank do lots of them:

In a similar line to the suggestion of the TVAG Bhoy's line, you could also try taking a look at the Perry's ACW rioters and the Brigade Games Victorian Gangsters as they are both roughly the right period. You could always swap out any revolvers etc with flintlock pistols from the likes of TAG...

Good point, I had forgotten about these. :)

I did convert a few to use as Tejanos/Mexicans. You need to do a fair bit of greenstuff work though to make them look less Spanish. :?
