A Vertibird has landed
« on: 24 September 2013, 02:32:47 PM »
After seeing pics of emperorpenguin's vertibird model ( http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=35048.msg604635#msg604635 ) I desperatly wanted one for myself.
Since his order, they had added a smaller sized one, which seemed a better fit for 28mm and as such I went with that one.
Not the best photoshoot, but you'll get the picture :

This one has a Brother Vinni BoS Paladin in it to give an idea about the size :

Customs managed to press me for an additional €46 bringing total cost up to €205.
Not that that spoiled the fun of digging it out of a foam filled box  ;D
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

It's a nice little birdie, but for that price? :o Holy cow!

I'd like to have a full squadron of flyers for that... ::)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

That is a huge amount. I'd get shot if I spent at on one hobby thing.

If only they were easier to get hold of e_e

Beautiful piece though, I imagine you're very proud to at least own it!
If you'd like an apocalyptic monster in 28mm, throw me a PM and I'll think it over.

It is nice. Perfect, in fact.
At that price, you'd better pass it on to your grandkids, though.

lol  Well Zizi you can blame me if your other half is horrified by the price!

That is a much better fit scalewise. However I discovered that they're not very sturdy. The landing gear on mine snapped, just from being on display. Bloody annoying given the price it cost  :'(

One of the benefits of single life : I don't have to justify my purchases  :D
As for sturdiness, you are correct. the gondolas and the rear part of the landing gear are rather fiddly. In case of emergency I'll look into prying them loose and try to reattach 'em.
