As a note, the Bleeding rules are supposed to simulate cutting or stabbing a major blood vessel or artery. Of course every wound bleeds, but not every wound bleeds enough to hamper a gladiator. Wounds that aren't Bleeding have basically hit muscle, which can take quite a bit of stabbing and cutting.

Thanks Frank. Makes total sense when you explain it.
Maybe consider referring to it a 'blood loss' or 'major blood loss' rather than 'bleeding' per se?
Just a thought :)

Aha, so all those denarii did serve a purpose  ;)

I'm blaming you James... Since you weren't there with your customary dismal dice luck, the hex must have passed onto me! Come back soon - all is forgiven ;)

The House of Sanguinus springs back from the surprise mauling of Maximus the Gaul, to flaunt its latest acquisition.

One bout - one stunning victory. First of many. This slave is a natural born killer.

Be afraid, all you who tread the sands of the arena.

He. Is. Coming.

The ludus of T. Capitanus Sanguinus gives you:

Arminius - Murmillo!

Coming soon to an arena near you.

And yes, he's 40mm 8)

Nice paintjob.

(You may want to check your paints, though, they seem to be cracking when they dry..... ::)).

lol

He comes with his very own 'rostra victrix' - the winner's podium. As it happens, it's exactly the same size as Bibbly's laser-cut bases, so I thought I might as well use it. Gives him a bit of height advantage too, obviously ;)

Pure Evil Miniatures.
Shown as heroic 32mm, but he's a good 40mm tall. He's a different shape to the Battle Honours figures. Actually - notwithstanding the fantasy style muscles - he's a bit more realistically proportioned. Head the right size in relation to body etc. He's a resin figure. Came within 24 hours of ordering. Beautiful casting.

I've just got a couple of bits of detail to finish on him, and then you can see him in his pure, unadulterated form - and alongside Maximus for scale.

He is a magnificent hunk of flesh, I have to say...  ;)

He is a BIG man! Let's see him in the flesh proper.

I like his intro too Richard - gotta love a bit of spin doctoring.

I've been eying off this brute from Pure Evil, should I take BotS into the realm of fantasy, as some ogre or giant gladiator.

Anything to amuse you. ;)

Richard, did you buy just this one, or did you pick up any of the other figures? The Myrmillo they show also looks very suitable.

I have been keeping my eye on the recent Kickstarter for Arena Rex, another fantasy Gladiator game. They have a very nice 35mm Secutor and Myrmillo in their range. It has raised its Kickstarter amount, so hope to see those in production soon.
