And the Gantry Crane is now painted and ready for the assembly to the main base.  I am beginning to realise quite how hard this is going to be to photograph when finished and keep everything in focus!

Try focus stacking - http://digital-photography-school.com/an-introduction-to-focus-stacking

Other than that - this is looking sweet  :)

So, it all starts to come together ...

(Albeit after two hours of winding cable and linking chain and fiddling and more fiddling and cursing and yet more fiddling ... you get the idea!)

So, now I just have the skip to fill, a dozen figures to paint and the "big reveal".

Looking good.

Sorry about this - but I have only just read your plea for help with Hazard stripes.

(I know that you have now done then - and they look great, but)
Try laying strips of Tamiya tape one next to another and when fully covered, remove every other strip. Always paint the Yellow first and the Black (actually dark Grey) next.

You can get transfers/Decals of hazard tape - One of the large aircraft carriers has it on the decks.

Like I said, looking goood.

Incredible!
Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

I still have absolutely NO idea as to what's going on!  ;D

Well, I get that the fellows from your previous diorama are now scrap dealers, but I'm not sure where the jedi ewok being shot at in a terrarium comes into it.  ;D

Er... Perhaps as an energy source?
Does ewok shooting warm the planet?  :D
Perhaps the full potential of a home terrarium with a jedi ewok in it, has not yet been fully recognized as a modern energy source?  lol

the Dioramam of Doom competition is more about story telling than just painting and modelling. Think of the two sections of the diorama as "Cause and Effect"
