Ripper at Derby Show
« on: 30 September 2013, 02:38:27 PM »
A couple of us ran the EotD Ripper scenario as a demo game at the Derby show over the weekend and my intention was to take some pics of my new builds in their proper context but we ended up being so busy I didn't get a chance! Below are a few pics I did manage to take.

While we were there not only did we have a good chat with Andy and Wendy Cooper (who have more plans for future releases) but  we also met the rules authors Nigel Atkinson and Sam Caterall who gave us an outline of some of the new rules and factions. It's all good!  :)

It was good to catch up with some of the usual LAFers and meet a few new faces. I lost my voice by the end of the second day but good fun was had by all.

Anyway, here's a pic with a teasing glimpse of the new West Wind omnibus (I hasten to add it's on a temporary base but I'll get some decent pics of it up soon):

Murder!

The new wharf building in place (this picture is apparently sponsored by Litko):

The crane is a new addition as is the canal section which is a modified version of the original built for me by Svennn:

Here's another view of the wharf with the pub and the omnibus in the background:

This was the conclusion of the best game of the weekend which went down to the wire. After finishing off yet another victim, Jack was cornered by Holmes, Watson and one of the Met's finest. After a short and brutal round of hand to hand Jack was one die roll from victory but alas Lady Luck left him when I said, "Just don't roll a one". Oops! :

Cheers.

Fuzzy.
Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

Great job, excellent looking game.

I am intrigued by the "Bowman" wall poster in last pic - whats that all about? ;-)

Tis from the new West Wind Requiem range my man and I believe it will be available from November.

Aha! I can see why! I copied a heap of Victorian advertisements from the internet, shrank them and printed them. Unfortunately I've lost the file I saved them to but I've just checked the advertisement on the wall and its advertising 'AL. BOWMAN THE GREAT WIZARD' and his show of 'MAGIC, MIRTH and MYSTERY'. That's all I can get from it I'm afraid.
