First 25mm HOTT Army: Human Feudal Lords
« on: October 04, 2013, 06:08:07 AM »
I finished my first ever 25mm army for HOTT.  I've done plenty in 15mm but never before in 25.  I assembled this army to sell on eBay but I am tempted to keep it.  These are mostly old 25mm Minifigs.  The mage is a 1/72 plastic Caesar Mini, and her familiar is from Reaper.  The sneaker is an old model from Grenadier.  I know some will say too shiny, but you ever hear of knights in shining armor? *grin*

"The army is mustered my lord."

"Behold the Dragon Priestess and her pet." "Aye and watch that lurking assassin"

"My right flank is strong!"

"Men of the Army!  You have come to serve your lord, your country, your homes, your families and your very lives.  The threat before us is terrible.  But keep faith with me and pray that our Lord Teraxiaeyr the Great Blue Dragon will see our faithful service and awaken from his slumber to descend upon our enemies as we smote their ruin upon the countryside!" -Lord Donnuil Mac Athol before the Battle of the Augury Fields

While the old Minifigs may no longer be state of the art pieces, they do have a certain charm all their own. Your LOVELY brushwork brings that out SPLENDIDLY. VERY WELL DONE!

I like the way you made your bases. Can you explain/detail how do you do it ?

I'm currently preparing a few 10mm RRTK (same basing as HOTT) armies myself.

thanks!

Thank you.  Not much to explain, they are metal bases. I brush white glue on the base, then flock.  After the flocking has adhered I go back and glue down bits of rock and other terrain items.  I mix several flocking materials into a bowl or jar vice just one type, shaken not stirred, and label each jar depending upon terrain.  I have a Texas jar which has used dried coffee grounds as well as sand, flocking, and static grass.  I have 2 types of standard, what you see on these bases are from my"Standard 2" jar.  Then I have a S1, North Africa, Lunar and Mars.

Always good to see the old classics - HOTT, Minifigs and Grenadier are certainly all great classics to see again.
