Looking for 25/28mm 'Japanese' Goblins (Bakemono)
« on: October 13, 2013, 11:04:43 AM »
Anyone out there able to help ?

I'll looking to build a small force for Ronin, but want to use Bakemono (Dia-Bakemono and Bakemono Sho, maybe and O-Bakemono). Apart from Dixon's 'legends of Nippon' range, Clan War and the Bakemono from Bushido's Savage Wave faction (which look more like Gremlin's), any other available sources.

Love to get hold of the Confrontation Japanese/Oriental goblin and Ogre models, but don't nee the second mortgage that would entail.

 Any Ideas ?

Cavalcade is closing shop Nov 4th tho.

Hadn't heard that, I guess it's good that I placed a big order a few months ago. I love their fantasy samurai stuff.

Dixon still have the old Mark Copplestone sculpts in their LEgends of Nippon range;

£1.25 a shot so not bad, old school style which I like.

Just ordered a load of the Dixon figures, but the Highlander Studios look really good for an 'organised' force. Really like the AA figures, but with just 5 figures in the range ? :(

I remember seeing a few Russian and Chinese recasters that make the confrontation oriental goblin and ogre stuff.  I can't comment on the quality, and some would question the morality of it, but if its not available from any other avenue...

I have seen the Dai Bakemono come on ebay periodically, and they don't fetch the crazy price of some OOP stuff, but you would likely pay about $20 an ogre if they are in good condition.

The Cavalcade stuff looks quite nice though... hope I can scrape enough pennies together to get a few before they close down.  I wonder if someone else might pick up the range and keep it available...

There was also this crowdfunder a few months ago: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/kensei-fantasy-creatures--2?c=activity

I think I found their website... not sure whats available yet.  http://kensei.zenitminiatures.es/en/

I'm looking for the confrontation Dai-Bakemonos myself, but I'm pretty sure the ones that are offered on ebay regularly are recasts so havn't consided buying them myself.

The Kensei stuff is pretty good though, will probably take a while before it's all released but the indigogo had a nice variety of creatures so I'm sure there will be something in the bunch you can use

Highlander studios carries a line of Asian goblins and ratmen that would work well.
