Pulp stories - a recommendation
« on: 17 October 2013, 08:55:28 PM »
Just thought I'd share this. 'Pulp Fiction - The Villains' is a collection of pulp style detective stories from the 20s onwards. I'd highly recommend it. I picked up a copy in The Works (UK discount bookstore) for £2.50! There are 16 short stories from a variety of authors and as you might expect some have aged better than others. Overall though it's a treat if you're a fan of the genre.

I'll have to track down The Works in central Birmingham, now that I'm not passing the Brisol one daily. Might be a light change from Nicholas Nickleby whilst I'm living in a hotel again for another 2 months.

They only had the one copy so it may have just been a random bit of pot luck!

That chap on the cover looks familiar  ;)
I'm going to need a SWAT team ready to mobilise, street level maps covering all of Florida, a pot of coffee, twelve Jammie Dodgers and a Fez!

If you can't find it in The Works, Amazon have some second hand copies (paperback and hardback) for 1p! £2.80 postage though. I've just ordered one.

Yes, you're right, I hadn't seen the other two. I've also stumbled across another one, see below:
