The Fang Of The Viper (Crossover Ninjas)
« on: 21 October 2013, 01:16:19 PM »
Ive been waiting on some good ninjas as minions for a Reaper figure I painted a year or so back (which I called 'The Blue Viper').  Rusti and Crossover Minis gave me what I was looking for!  Here are a couple pics of some I painted up this week

The Fang Of The Viper

With their boss, The Blue Viper

Thanks for looking!

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME work Jay!  Just cracking figures and paint job!  I love the colors, I'm currently painting some ninjas with that head for promo pics and now they just feel inadequate. :(

I love them, thanks for showing us!

Thank you very much guys!

No way - all the stuff on your site looks awesome.  Im sure your ninja will too!

I really love painting the Crossover Minis.  I guess you probably have to enjoy the 'genre' too, but they are easy to paint, and are perfect for creating 'unique' super heroes!

Good looking unit.  I think I read somewhere that historically ninjas might have worn sky-blue or darker blue pajamas.  The black ones seem to be  a recent innovation.  Maybe I made that up.  Anyway great painting.

Only in comics would you see bright blue ninjas!

They are very thematic!

I seem to recall something similar, something to do with pure black standing out more at night.

Lovely blue on some really fine minis--they'll really pop on the tabletop!

GI Joe had a blue ninja figure called Ninja Viper   ;) so these might actually very well be Ninja Viper henchmen for the Blue Viper.

I like them!

I really like these, well done!  :) and I've painted some Cobra Ninjas a few months back (for LPL) but they were red.  I must say that the blue is a great colour choice for these.  8)

Yes, I saw those. They are great too, but the Arashikage clan was also blue at some point ;)

I am painting myself some red Arashikage Ninjas right now too .)

I think the entire concept of Pajama wearing Ninja is mostly made up. I have heard a plausible rumour that it comes from there where stagehands would be dressed in all black so they are unseen when moving things in the background etc. The audience was so used to ignoring these guys that if you needed a assassin to jump out of nowhere to murder someone then it was perfect.
