Sizes of Mecha Models?

Anyone here know of any mecha modeling sites out there that list the actual size of of the models?  There are several mechs I've considered ordering for 28mm gaming but I can't always tell what size they are going to be when I get them out of the box.  I'm really looking for mech models in the 5-10 inch range for various projects although I have use for models as small as 3 inches or as tall as 12 inches.  Lots of sites list the "scale" of the models but that doesn't really translate to physical size very consistently since a mech can be from a few meters tall to taller than a skyscraper depending on the setting.

I've been buying kits from different line.  A couple Gundams and a couple Frame Arms.  Most of the model kits I have so far are in the 10-12 cm range.  I've used a lot of toys as well but it's usually easier to see what size they are.  This if for a generic setting so I'm usually more concerned with if they design seems to work for me rather than what "mech" it actually is.  I've been using some 6 cm sized toys as "Battlesuits" which are kind of like Terminators/Elementals/TAGs in my setting but the brand I am using is off gassing pretty badly so I would like to find some options for them as well.  Basically I'm looking for mechs in the 10-24 cm range from just about any line with an upper price range of $50.00 US. 

I know that's still pretty vague but I was hoping some retailer or mech model hobby sight might have at least some of the info I'm looking for.  Hobby Link Japan only list the size of the model boxes which isn't helpful at all.

With the gundam stuff the 1/144 is about 10cm and the 1/100 around the 23cm mark with the zaku style suits.

All the zaku are about the same size

Cool!  I'll defiantly look up some of those 1/100 Zaku suits.

None of the kits mentioned in my list top the $20,- mark by the way, so you're good there.

And I have to agree with Scurv; that mecha suits the Dreamforge Germans-in-space perfectly!

I almost picked up a 1/144 Zaku today to use as a light mech for one of the armies I am working on that has a Germanic feel.  I've been using the Wargames Factory Shock Troopers for the regular grunts but I was planning on using the Dreamforge stormtrooper types for my powered armored units.  Right now I'm using toys for mechs and they work okay but their articulation is either very limited or non existent.  Also toy lines tend to not stay in stores all that long and model lines seem to stick around much longer so that's another reason I'm looking to switch.  I'm really excited about the notion of switching out weapons and also being able to strip down the mech for certain scenarios.  Also being able to post the mechs behind the terrain would be a nice option and it would look more dynamic.  

How well does the articulation on these hold up over extended use?  Do they eventually get sloppy and if so are there fixes for that?

EM4 miniatures have 28mm mechs but they are around the same size of a standard 40k Imperial Guard trooper. They make work well as small unmanned drones or something.

Scopedog's from VOTOMS come in a lot of sizes as well. Ranging from 1/60 to 1/12 scale. Though it is best to get a measurement ahead of time. I can tell you the 1/60 kits i have acquired were not the right size. May be the same with the larger ones.

I like the Zaku's that have been shown. Some of the Zaku kits though look too cartoony for me. Which is funny when you think of their source material. :-)

Wow that's sexy!  I like the size too.  At little expensive but it looks nice.
