More livestock is always great for filling the table.

Thank you! Now I need some 'naked' horses (i.e. without saddles, bridles, etc) for the paddock beside my livery stable.

Just pick up a 'Tube O Horses' or other toy horses play set from a toy, craft, or discount store. Cheap & many are prepainted well enough to use right out of the package.

Wonderful painting and eyecandy!!!  :-*

May I ask what paints you use? The hues are really nice.

Thanks lads. Paints are mainly Foundry and Vallejo Model Color, with a few old Citadel as well - chiefly for the metals. All supplemented by Army Painter 'Strong Tone' Quick Shade, painted on, and a good coat of Testors' Dull Cote to kill the shine.

Cheers mate, I have come to appreciate Army Painter too, not because I paint a lot but because it speeds up the process and gives a better result than I could achieve normally. I used Vallejo Matt Varnish with good result to kill the shine, but when I bought Humbrol Matt Varnish (acrylic) it left a "frosted" finish on the mini  :'(, I tried twice with the same result so don't know if it's something in the Humbrol varnish that disagrees with Army Painter...

It's probably that the Humbrol had too much matting agent in the varnish - I used to use it, but stopped for exactly that reason. For the way I prefer to work, I've found that a quick squirt of Dull Cote over the dry Quick Shade, followed by 20 minutes in the oven at 60°C, gives the most consistent finish.

I tried the Vallejo, but found that, for my particular tastes, it was a little glossier than I like... But that might have been the way I was using it...

I have never ever even thought about putting my minis into the oven in that way  :o! But you are quite right on the last bit  lol, and your minis do look absolutely ace!!!
