Russian OGAM
« on: November 24, 2013, 08:24:51 PM »
I have a Baba Yaga and a Rasputin (perhaps a reincarnation of Koshchey the Deathless) I could use as Legends but who would be the God?  Baba Yaga could have 3 horsemen (red, white & black)  and/or 3 pairs of ghostly hands to do her bidding but I'm missing the major deity.  Alternately do I use Baba Yaga as the diety (Goddess of Wisdom and Death) and flesh out the rest with some of the characters mentioned above?  Thoughts?

Perun, Slavic deity of thunder, and use the Thor figure? Or you could use the Otherworld Frost Giant?

Chernobog, the Black God? He seems like a suitably versatile option, model-wise.

I have the Frost Giant from Otherworld, it's WELL worth the money!

I had a similar thought when I saw the three Bogatyrs Cuprum posted in this thread http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=60574.0

There's a whole lot of late mediaeval russians you could use, like from the Assault Group.

I just remembered the old Warhammer Knights of Kislev, by Alan Perry

Perun is definitely a good candidate, but Svarog might also be a good choice. My understanding is that he's a deity of the sky, sun, fire, or daylight (or something along those lines), and was also prominent in the early Slavic pantheon.
