Probably wrote too much into the heading  o_o

Anyway: I am getting into this post-apocalyptic business, and am considering a range of settings involving zombies, aliens, monsters or common or Mad Max type humans.
I am basing this on my penchant for buying odds and ends from different ranges, many of which are vehicles.

Seeing that I want a skirmish-scale game with a number of vehicles (and foot troops, but with the vehicles having a central and not a support role, to the point of outnumbering the foots - er - feet?), which rules should I try? Nothing too detailed or elaborate, the simpler the better - and ideally still available for purchase. I'm certainly not looking to reproduce the precise qualities of a very specific type of weapon down to the different effects of different marks of the same weapon, for example.

The vehicles I would consider including range from late 1910s (!) all the way up to AK-47 style walkers.

Combat Zone by EM4 maybe worth looking into for you, or theirs a hybrid game of Necromunda and GorkaMorka called GorkaMunda floating around on the web somewhere.

High octane is the Gorka/ necro hybrid that I know of.
There is also Ballistic v2.5- its still a work in progress.
Axles and Alloys is a great fun car game, but has no ped rules, you would have to improvise your own.
Road Rage v8 has simple ped rules with vehicles.
Warlord 2085, Wastelands, and  Fallout Warefare are all skirmish games with vehicle rules.
Best of all, all these rulesets are free on the intraweb if you look. (or you can PM me, I have them all.)

Warlands by Aberrant is very vehicle oriented yet has rules for foot troops both as units and as individuals, rules for walkers and flyers.

Every time a bad person dies, a Paratrooper gets his wings.

Thanks guys.
I think I'll trek through the free downloads. Started off by downloading Nuclear Renaissance, which seemed fitting as my first vehicle on the production line comes from the Brotherhood of Iron Kickstarter, anothe Ramshackle Curtis production.

what scale. Depending on the scale you are going for will effect the rules.
D'oh moment for me, I never pointed that out - 28mm.
I'm curious about 6mm too, however.
