Now as to the Solosystem appendix, it's going to be around 5,000 words in the back of the book, not a complete, standalone thing, and it will have a few examples of existing character write-ups boiled down into SoloSystem. The idea is you take SuperSystem write-ups and translate them into SoloSystem.  It does not take long once you get the hang of it.

Ok i undesrtand what solo game could be.

And about new edition you talk about: "The urge to make real, substantive changes is strong" and "significant changes". will it be SS3 revision or SS4?

I started out with idea of doing SS 3.5, but now I am looking at more substantive changes to streamline things.  I can't really talk about stuff yet, as everything remains in flux.  It may very well be a 4th ed. with some really interesting and dynamic changes when all is said and done.

We shall see, so stay tuned.

My big question is, what kind of timeline are we looking at here? I was about to buy the PDF version (House break in pushed that back as money became tight). Now I see that there is a new version, and a print version to boot.

Just wondering what kind of wait time I'm looking at for this to come out.
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

If we do a Kickstarter to fund the print version, this will occur in early February.  I am planning some sort of setup where all contributors no matter the level get the PDF with their pledge.  This will be a beta essentially, with layout and artwork, but subject to changes based on people's play-tests.

If we hit certain thresholds in the KS, I can add content to the finished book, like stats for some of the official figures, and maybe stats for other company's figures if they want to join in--Crossover comes to mind.  I learned a lot from my first KS, so this one would not have as many moving parts, but there will be at least one promo miniature for it, and maybe more.

But that would be it.  The book, PDFs, and a few minis.  No terrain.

Maybe custom dice?  would folks want that sort of thing?  But again, that adds a lot of complication.  We shall see...

I've been considering Supersystem for a while, but this kind of arrangement on Kickstarter would certainly get me on board. I'm a bit of an impulse buyer with a limited budget and so the long lead in of most KS projects puts me off. The immediacy of a beta rule set with a hard copy and goodies to follow is extremely persuasive to someone like me.

That would be cool. I will keep my eye out for it. Thank you.

I like the idea of custom dice. I think the PDF/Book/Special Minis would be great! Yea, wait until March (avoid Feb, Valentine's day!)

It´s a bad new for me. I don´t like the continous new editions with new rules and big changes  :'(

It was hard to translate the SS3 to Spanish to try to play in my club, and made a lot of characters to SS3 and made a plug-in to make the sheets with Stange Eons...
Too much work in SS3 to change in SS4

Me either; however the new edition won't be a pdf (that I might as well have thrown my money into a fire for!) but I do like the hard copy of books. Sounds like this SS4 could be good.

I do understand the frustration, but along the way, we have folks who still just play 2nd ed.(the Baron comes to mind), and I am sure 3rd will retain its adherents.  It's been 4.5 years since I did SS3, so I feel like it's a good time for a new look at the rules.

Anyway, I am just glad you play any version of my game, and I want you to keep playing, but please don't feel discouraged by new editions.

My games don't rely on heavy, continual support, so each edition remains fairly self-contained.

Just a quick request with the KickStarter, even though it's months away; please keep the shipping as reasonable as you can. I know it's not easy, but I've lost track of how many KSs I've passed over because the shipping put it out of my reach.

Honestly, I don't do Kickstarters. Never have, never will. So, I'm out if it goes to a Kickstarter.
