Does any one know of any websites or books that lists what equipment  & vehicles the Japanese defence force used during the 1950's? I know that the US supplied vehicles but I'm not sure what type.

And of course, this question has nothing to do with re-watching my copy of the original 1954 Godzilla movie

I don't know of any websites and can't give any book titles, I'm afraid.

However, as far as I can remember, they used pretty much everything the US Army did at the time. Definitely M48s etc, also the older Shermans M3s etc. Uniforms and small arms as per the US, but with national distinctions. I'd say that if you used the original Godzilla as source material, you probably wouldn't be too far out. Again, I seem to recall the JSDF actually took part in the filming.

I do have a terrible memory, but I do recall having a book which detailed all the world's post WW2 armaments when I was a youngster in the 70s.

As ever I'll be happy to stand corrected, though......
