Hi

We have a new 1/55th armoured vehicle:

K66 Schupo Sonderwagen 21 - after WW1 the German army was forbidden from having
any armoured vehicles, but a loophole allowed the police force to use them.  One
of these police vehicles was this monster of an armoured car. Some of them were
still in use in WW2.

Oh wow, what a great looking vehicle. Looks like it would make a nice RV.

Oooh nice.

That looks like a fore trret, rear turret and a commander's cupola?

Interesting.

Nice and clunky looking, good for any number of smaller armies.

Amazing!

From 1921 onwards if I understand correctly.

Anybody know where they were actually used?  Freikorps in the East?  Freikorps vs. Reds in Berlin?  Sold to China?

As far as I can tell - and I am no expert - these were used by the German police in a time in which the German military was not allowed armoured vehicles. I am guessing they were mainly used internally.

Armed police battalions (Schutzpolizei) during the Weimar Republic. Good for those who like their Pulp Adventures in the vein of Christopher Isherwood.  :D

Too late for the 1919 Revolution, really you want Erhardts or captured Russian cars for that.

As the armed police battalions were designed to be a reserve military force (a way of hiding true military strength under the terms of Versailles) you could use these in a 'what if' versus Poland and or France in the 1920s. War with Poland came close and it was something the Reichswehr actively planned for.
