now the term "pied noir" gets a totally understandable meaning 

I was thinking of using spanish regulares as tirailleurs too - what do you think?

yes regulares could do good "tirailleurs marocains" or even tabor in 1943-44, but in winter dress (end of 1914 for the great war) because they wear the "gandourah" typical tribal wool shirt with black/white strips !

Dismounted spahis!!! yess !!! i had not think at them for foot figures!!!!

 very nice idea for my 1918 army (morrocan spahis charging throught the Bulgarian front to the Danube !!)
