Thanks Steve. :D never compare yourself to others, just do your own thing and push yourself. ;) I'd like to see your train though ;)

Oh, Bertie!
Phantasmagorical!
 :o :o

Whereas the new citizens are all bloody wonderful, and I really love the Blacksmith's shirt, those trains are the dog's danglies!

I will just be happy with a choo-choo in the background for the Old West games, not a masterpiece like that, although there are plans for a more detailed scratchbuilt train at a later date.
But that is a different story....

So the trains are roughly done. I'm a little over them. What do you guys think? I think my main problem is the front lights, any tips to improve them/source light tutorials?

Mr Ricketts kindly shows us around the two baldwin Loco's being prepared for New Silverton.

Old No 4 is in a better condition than the later No12 after a recent restoration, but both are stained with use. Michael from Silverton Tramway Co runs a tight ship to maximise profits - and isn't afraid of unjust gains. No12 was missing a cab, nothing a little found I bar and corrugated steel hasn't sorted. The engineers wont be having fun on the dusty plains - especially if they get shot at.

C&C welcome
Cheers
Matt

Good stuff  8)

The lights are a little too big for my mind and maybe some sort of small, plastic lense (if you can source one) would help  :)

cheers

I think they look great! I agree the headlights are bit big and both should have oil lanterns rather than one have the turbo. You might look at some of Grandt Line parts, there should be good replacements there if you want to do it. As long as they look good on the table it really doesn't matter. Awesome work.

Thanks guys for the tips. A bit large eh?  ??? They are scratchbuilt, and the 'turbo' is a toothpaste lid!  lol

Ill investigate those options - any tips for painting the 'light' though?

Bloody brilliant, mate.
 :-* :-* :-*

I would not bother with any lighting effects, as I cannot paint them.
 :D

I would just paint them as if it is daylight and they are not lit.
Simples!

Perhaps that is the way to go. It means I still have to paint glass refraction and shading, but may be easier by far, as flat paint doesn't look very bright.

Cheers Admiral!!!!!!
