British Library puts its images collection on Flickr

I've posted a link to this in the Gothic Horror section but there is so much 19th Century Colonial images on here I felt you "Darkest Africa" chaps should learn about it.

Superb collection. But how do you search for specific areas of interest? I can't see a search facility of any kind. It is nice that the British Library are finally releasing images to the internet, but I wish they were doing it in a slightly more organised format.

There isn't one. The captions seems to be all the information the library has on a given image. I simply scrolled through the images to find these.

.Oh well, guess it will give me plenty to do during long winter nights. But it has to be the most imbecilic way imaginable of releasing 1 million images

I think these images where collected that way in the 19th century they didn't release any 20th century material this way.
