Anyone doing SA in WWII ? (Achtung! Cthulhu)
« on: 22 December 2013, 04:13:18 PM »
Straight forward question  ;D

With my new 'Achtung! Cthulhu' books in hand, it occurred to me that SA would work great for that setting. It generally builds around a small team of individuals raiding a site of occult activity to stop or disrupt whatever is happening there. The current weapons in the rules would cover most standard firearms (using dynamite for grenades), as LMG's wouldn't be a common weapon for sentries, and could easily be worked out with current rules if needed.

That's the thing I love about these rules, there are so flexible - currently considering using them for 'Dark Age, Wild West, VSF, 1920, WWII and Modern', all without much modification.

Creeping Horror in so many era's, Lovely. :o

I was  thinking about it myself and about using vehicles, too. For normal games, it could easily work, but perhaps on a larger point basis (as special operations guys would be a bit heavier armed, I suppose). You can always use henchmen profile, or even cultists, as your ordinary Nazi badguys. .30 cal machine gun fits more than well with LMG if you ask me.

Which version of the AC books are you working from? Savage Worlds, Call of Cthulhu or PDQ?
Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Liking the look of some of the miniatures but will probably wait till the release the skirmish version of the game. I see a future for some of those in my SA collection.
We haul ours to kick theirs.

I'll probably be doing SA in WW2 with the Acthung! Cthulhu models as well as their own skirmish systems when they get released.

I got my miniatures from the Achtung Cthulhu campaign and they will fit in very well with my Strange Aeons models. I'll be using the zombie soldiers for my Kulten Death cult. Dr. Kaufman is tired of experimenting on the local townsfolk.
