New W.I.P. Tanks
« on: June 05, 2008, 11:23:21 AM »
Hi
Here are 2 tanks I picked up at U.K. Games Expo at the weekend. The 1st large tank is from Ironclad Miniatures and is going to support my A.C.W yankees.

Here is the 2nd from Ground Zero Games which will give support to my Victorian Police which I also picked up. I have yet to decide whether to use the gatling gun barrel which will be steam powered and firenon lethal (hopefully) cork, balsa or rubber bullets. Up to 5 in one round, or to use the cannon barrel to fire Indian rubber cannon balls lol lol. I may have to get another so I can have 1 of each.

I hope you are not to critical as I am only learning (still) and comments are always greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Great! "Victoria´s Crown Dominion Tank Police"! What a hoot! lol

Nicely done! Only tiny bit of criticism, the double line of rivets towards the left rear of the Yankee tanky looks a bit too heavily rusted. If you are going to place ladder irons there, however, forget what I said and go ahead - it´s just that it looks a bit strong on the flat surface.

You've done a good job with those!

I prefer the big fella - the little 'un is too bright for my taste, but  the colours are irrelevant. It's the paintwork that matters and yours look great.

I'd go with the "Gatling rubber bullet gun". Or, you could have the cannon used as a giant shotgun firing a load of rubber bullets like non-lethal cannister.

I'd like to see one of those used at riots these days  lol

I've never been keen on the big one, it's just a bit 'lacking' in something.

I do like the small one though, I have two which I've put legs on and turned into Royal Navy SteamStallion striders.

Oh, and Gatlings all the way!  ;D

   Thanks for the comments,

Chris, I was thinking about a ladder, but was unsure but I will probably tone the rust down a tad. The rivets were missing from the model. So rather than sending it back I decided to make do and try and make it look like something might be shot off.

GM the little tank isn't quite as bright in daylight but under the flash I agree. So after consulting my paint God 'Pappa Midnight' at the weekend I will tone it down a bit, under advice.

The sick puppy 'Pappa Midnight' came up with the idea for the Indian Rubber cannon ball, my only thoughts were whether there'd be enough gaming time to roll for all the ricochets then all the damage lol lol lol.

       Cheers

Looking good mate!
Hopefully I'll get a look at these in the "flesh" at the weekend.

Hi Fritzy,

Nice choice of colour on the big beastie. :)
They are coming together well.

Hi,
After all the constructive help, I can't say criticism, you've given me, I've tried to put it into practise. Here is my steam tank for my Yankee army ready for some transfers to depict its nationality and a base. Yahoo I'vealmost finished it. I usually get bored and change subjects before I get this far lol

Here after toning it down alot and with its completed driver is the London Police Tank, I still haven't decided on which barrel to fit. We should do a vote possibly lol

Hope you like them, I do,  OK I'm a bit biased.

Great work! THat American Land Ironclad looks more and more charming to me every time I see it. Good call on the ladder, and that coal tender looks really good, too.

Thanks for the comments guys, all your comments were taken on board with many thanks. Where the ladder is there should be rungs but these were missing from the box.
right now to the next one, or maybe a walker.

Cheers
