(COMMERCIAL) Caliver Books buy PMC
« on: January 11, 2014, 12:21:50 PM »
Got mail shot this monring and thought may be of interest as lots of LAFERs have bought and have in their collection terrain and vehicles, boats by PMC who was also on ebay as sell that stuff boy at one time

this was a mail shot I received for your perusal

Caliver Books is now the proud owner of the PMC GAMES range of high quality,
painted Resin buildings  ( 6mm; 15mm and 28mm -Biblical through to Gulf War )
and Steam Punk/ Very British Civil War vehicles & Boats

We are re-launching the buildings/scenery  under the BATTLEFIELD BUILDINGS
banner  (see www.caliverbooks.com) and  the  rest  under FORGOTTEN FRONT
MINIATURES (www.miniaturefigurines.co.uk)

Once we are properly up and running we shall be selling all but the vehicles
with painted or unpainted options - (The vehicles will always come un-assembled
but undercoated). The price in the catalogue is for the PAINTED version. Postage
will be added at the standard normal rate  for now

At the moment  we are offering straight out of the molds buildings/scenery  at
20% off the price as listed in the catalogue- -  with payment by card only so we
can deduct.

We shall be taking  a small  display selection to shows, plus bundles of
illustrated catalogue. Like Minifigs, these are mail order items  produced in
their own timescale by a specialist team separate from the normal mail order and
as such they will not be available to  grab off of the shelves when we are
getting ready for a show, so no pre-orders I'm afraid  though we are happy to
take orders AT shows!

Interesting. It's quite a big range with some nice goodies.
Don't!

Nice one. Look forward to seeing more pics of the stuff on the website though.

Yes, very interesting.  Needs more pictures though before we can buy anything!

it's a shame, websites with no more pics that we had on the paper list of Wargames foundry miniatures in the 90's .

a cheap camera is around 100 £ , the gimp is free ...

i was interested in VSF ... but no pics, no buy !  >:(

Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

I lost $50 on a PMC eBay purchase that disappeared in the mail in 2012. I only received a partial refund. Give me the $50 PMC still owes me, and I might consider buying some of this merchandise. I think that if Caliver bought PMC, they also bought a lot of resentment as I am not the only one who had a bad experience.

Pictures are going up bit by bit.

Site still a pain though...

It will be good to have a stable supply as the eBay bid idea left me cold and not understanding why I could not buy direct...

The website may not be the best but Caliver has always had good service in my experience ordering across the pond.

That website is like going back 20 years on an Internet time machine. Just dreadful.

No pictures, no interest.

The prices seem to have taken a bit of a hike too, which is to be expected I suppose. I lost a £75 order a few years ago and they sent a full replacement plus a free building. Sorry to hear others had a bad experience with them.

While I, in a rare moment of honesty, return a book they've sent wrongly. It set me back 8£, and I didn't even get a thank you...

Sorry, that's my badly written post, my experience was with PMC gamed, nor Caliver. I've had a similar experience to you with another company where I sent back something sent in error at my cost and never got a reply. It leaves a bad taste.

What annoyed me the most was the initial response being quick as lightning, while the "dude, refund" mails were ignored. The five of them.
