Sometime ago I started buying some Artizan Arthurians and based them in close order. After a while I got interested in Dux Brit by the Lardies and strated buying figures to base up on individal bases to make up a Romano British Army for the rules.I started off by adding a Romano British warband from Westwind. Not content with just buying the infantry I added a few other packs including the personalities so as a result I’ve got multiple priests! I also bought a few command and a couple of armoured figures and the separate heads to give them more of an individual look.
Unfortunately using 2 part epoxy and then finding a head has slipped overnight has resulted in at least 2 figures (a priest in particular) looking like they’ve got some serious cervical defects or wounds
Later on I added to the mix as I wasn’t able to resist some of Musketeer Miniatures Late Roman/Romano British figures. I also bought some archers and a few unarmoured infantry from their range of Goths.
I finished the army off yesterday by finally finishing the three Artizan Design Arthurian Heroes. I’ve posted pictures of the close order figures in the past and will add to the 2 armoured and 1 unarmoured units in the future and use them with other rule sets against my Saxons and or Vikings.
I’ve also added a few figures from the Gripping Beast Heroes of the Viking age range, one as my champion and another as a leader. It’s no surprise then I suppose that for a Dux Brit force I have too many figures in the end!
The overall army without the close order figures
Now with the close order Artizan figures
Next - Westwind unarmoured figures that make up the bulk of my levy
The MM unarmoured Romano British and those from the Goth range including the archers.
On the left are the MMs from RB range in capes
Next two groups of warriors, again a mix of WW and MM who are a little better attired with capes etc
Then the group of 6 Comanipulares who are sort of uniformed alike and from MM
A few odds and ends showing various leaders including Merlin and the big fella from Gripping Beast
The assorted “clergy” lurch with the wry neck!
WW burning a druid at the stake
Next the Artizan heroes and some of those on multiple bases
