Great work there!

As someone dabbling in the period myself, these threads are always a treat!

Any chance of giving us a quick breakdown of the force? I am currently hoarding away Late Roman figures without any direction (until I buy the ruloebook, of course!) and this would be a good indication as to whether I have enough Romano-British yet.

When is enough really enough, though? :)

Great work indeed!!!! Well done! Fabulous to see Dux becoming so popular!
@ Christian: You need 3 heroes and a champion, 6 elite armoured bodyguards, 12 'proper' warriors and 18 levy spearmen plus 4 missile troops (e.g. archers) to do the basic Romano-Brit force.

Then you need to get a few spares in case you are lucky enough to win big!! No unit will ever go above 8! You may also be able to 'upgrade' units as time goes on, so you may need an extra 6 elites, plus more 'proper' warriors. You should also consider at least 4 armoured cavalry and some (4) skirmishers (javelin or sling-armed, I suggest, to differentiate from the missile troops) You also need a mounted hero with the cavalry. Personally, I'd buy at least 8 cavalry models to account for gaining 2 lots of them as reinforcements...

Saxons start with the same number of heroes, then they need 12 elite guards, 18 warriors and 4 missile troops. They have no levy. Spares and extras-wise, the Saxons need skirmishers or warriors and may gain 4 light cavalry.

However, unless you are:
a) very lucky
b) very good at generalship

you won't need too many extras or spares for a while. I have played 6 games and only just managed a win big enough to add 2 warriors to one of my units!!!

Hope that helps.

Andy

Many thanks for your kind comments, I'm glad you like them! I'll post the reinforcements (more warriors and some cavalry, already primed on my table) as soon as they are ready...

Christian, as Guitarheroandy has already explained what you need, I can only recommend ordering the rulebook - those are really fantastic rules (I fear I'm repeating myself here, but it is worth it)  :D

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I needed just to get my head around how much to start with! :)

Looking forward to nabbing a set of these rules soon.

Keep it up :)
