Gallery: A clan of warriors from Nippon. Henchman - Samurai V.

Samurai, unlike the corrupt, gold-hungry nobility of the Old World, live in accordance with the uncompromising principles of simplicity, humility, and silent discipline. For them, the highest virtues are honor, loyalty, and unconditional service-not the hoarding of wealth, which in their eyes is nothing more than the dust of the world. Though they enjoy a privileged position in the society of Nippon, their lives are not ones of indulgence but of unending service and readiness for death. They are warriors through and through, trained from childhood by stern clan teachers, and every word, every cut of the katana, every thought carries the weight of an oath. Their loyalty to their lord and Emperor is beyond question; any breach of bushid? is punished with merciless resolve, sometimes even by the requirement of seppuku. A samurai knows no forgiveness-only duty, and the price that must be paid for it. From a samurai, perfection is expected not only in battle, but also in spirit. They master calligraphy, mathematics, philosophy, literature, music, and even dance-not as entertainment, but as a path to self-improvement. Though war often leaves little room for art, it is in art that the samurai learns balance-between blade and word, strength and reason. Many of them take on students, passing down not only the techniques of combat, but also the principles of their ancestors. They are living pillars of tradition, examples whose presence should bring peace and whose wrath should inspire dread. Their life is not only a life of fighting, but of constant learning and guarding the purity of the ideals to which they have given their soul and blood. Every gesture, every word, and every step of a samurai has meaning-and each could be the last.
A samurai’s service does not end on the battlefield. It is an endless path, demanding excellence in every aspect of life, all subject to a strict code. Loyalty to the Emperor and to their feudal lord is the foundation of their existence-without it, their soul becomes empty. When their lord dies or is stripped of power, the samurai may become a ronin-a warrior without a master, a shadow of his former self. The ronin is the guilty conscience of Nippon, a symbol of downfall and solitude. Though some become mercenaries, they are regarded as dead while still alive-outcasts, living in the shadow of shame and lost purpose. Many seek death to finally find the peace they lost along with their lord. Some attempt to redeem their disgrace through great deeds; others simply vanish into the darkness, where even their name is forgotten.

For the role of Samurai I used miniatures from set Japanese Samurai Command Group from Kyoushuneko Miniatures.

Gallery: Ethereal Court of the King of the Barrows. Heroes - Propheta

Long before the birth of Sigmar Heldenhammer, when the world was still young and magic untamed, some shamans dwelling in the lands that now lie within the Empire yearned for immortality. They betrayed Morr and their own mortal flesh, binding their souls to reality with spells so powerful they endured beyond death. The bodies of the Prophets have long since crumbled to dust, yet their accursed consciousness remains — silent, eternal, and malevolent. Bound by oaths sworn to the kings of the barrows, they have never known rest. Even in death they could not escape the dominion of their ancient monarch, and now they serve his will, feeding the spectral hosts with magic drawn from the realms beyond.

A Prophet is not merely a sorcerer — he is a living curse of the past, imprisoned in a ghostly form. He remembers the ancient rites and tongues long forgotten by the living, and knows words that can anchor spirits to the world of matter. In his incantations echo the voices of gods from before the age of gods, and every gesture carries the essence of death or a blessing for the phantoms that accompany him. The Prophet strengthens the spectral court, infuses its souls with ancient power, and strikes down those who oppose him with the lightning of a curse no mortal mind can ever comprehend.

Today I have photos of a heroes serving in the ranks of the Ethereal Court of the Barrow King, a warband I assembled using models from GW and painted with oil-based products from MIG and AK, along with effects and technical paints from GW.

I used the Scriptor Mortis miniatures from GW as the Propheta.

You can find more information about the Ethereal Court of the Barrow King in the Warheim FS rulebook.

Gallery: Ethereal Court of the King of the Barrows. Heroes - Protector

The Protector is the spirit of the most faithful guardian who once stood by the Barrow King's side, guarding his person and the borders of his long-fallen kingdom. He is the ruler's personal champion and shadow, faithful in life and in death—a silent defender who shows no mercy to those who dare raise a hand against the undead monarch.
Anyone who, in their pride, would slay the Barrow King or the Prophet must first confront the Protector—a being who still remembers the meaning of loyalty and who is willing to shield the ruler with their own soul as if it were still their own body.
Embalmed and laid to rest at the right hand of nobles, the Protectors remained silent for centuries, until the day the King's call roused them from their tombs.
Endowed with a portion of their monarch's ethereal power, they return not to guard the throne, but to safeguard his will—living or dead. In the company, they act as bodyguards, and their presence bolsters the morale of their undead companions like a silent compulsion. No one stands so close to the King—and no one falls with such fury when someone tries to reach him.

The bright green over turquoise really gives them a supernatural feel- almost as if those parts are emitting light.  Nice work!
