Plot points markers for PA?
« on: 26 January 2014, 06:05:28 PM »
I've been thinking about what sort of plot point markers to make, a good generic set with utility across scenarios.

Of course there's the old standbys of crates and barrels, as well as civilian figures, but some of you seem to be getting good and creative. For instance, in Mad Lord Snapcase's recent AAR, there was this excellent collection:

(Thanks for taking such a nice pic of your plot markers!)

What sorts of things have you all made for markers?

Do you base your plot point markers?

If they're not scratch-made, sources would be great to have too!

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Here's some of the pieces that are frequently used as plot points in our Pulp Alley games --

Crate, barrels, and luggage fit lots of settings and situations...

This is a boxed set of markers made by Spartan Games and painted by Mila...

Just about any interesting bit can be a plot point...

We use bystanders fairly often, but even the door or window of a building can mark a plot point...

HAVE FUN

Say, wasn't that luggage made by a member of these forums? Does anyone remember who that was? I'd certainly be interested in a set.

6milPhil makes them. They're great - I really should finish painting the first of the three sets I ordered from him, they've sat on one edge of my painting table far too long!

They're beautiful, so I'm definitely picking up a set if I can.

Thanks!

What about making ones specific to your force in the game? I made up ones for my police for 7TV. It's just bits of green stuff, foil and spare parts. Anything I could get my hands on.

See, that's a REALLY intelligent criminal carrying a 'swag' bag, because the police are going to think 'there's no way a real criminal would carry a bag like that!'. Kind of a double bluff! ;).....either that or their just stupid a@*#holes!

The money's just cooking foil Lord Snapcase.

I'll probably add some which are specific to Cthulhu-type games as I'm planning to use that as the background for any larger campaigns. Odd idols, eldritch books, stuff like that. But not too many, as those aren't quite as versatile, and I still want to have plenty of one-off or smaller conventional Pulp games that have nothing to do with the Lovecraft mythos.
