Never seen that guy before.  8)

But I can't believe you of all people didn't include a quote!  :'(

I can't. I don't own any Mythos books (almost none have been published in DK). Call of Cthulhu and The Case of Charles Dexter Ward were published in one tome in a translated version many years ago, and I borrowed it from the library, and I've read some Stephen King short stories heavily relying on the Mythos, but apart from that... I actually have nothing to quote  :?

I could of course read some in English, but I find that my mind gets too occupied finding the correct meaning of the wording when reading fiction in a foreign language, so I cannot imagine the things I'm reading about.

LPC #28 Deep One

Converted Reaper Bones figure.  Awesome figure.  Glad I bought multiples so that I can do lots of conversions.

I feel a bit sheepish following Uncle Mike's awesome LPC opening figure with this...

Nice colours! Yours is more correct...mine doesn't have a white belly. That's why I photoed mine from the side!  ;)

I like the contrasting shading on this one.

Thanks Mike.  I forgot to add the white belly at first.  :D  It was actually Ballardian's quote that reminded me.  Lol.

I like the contrasting shading on this one.
Thanks Fram.  I used primarily yellows and oranges on the main body (although it is a bit hard to tell that in these photos), so I tried to make the shadowing have a purple tone to contrast better.

Loving all the entries so far.  I'm a little surprised at the slower pace of this one.  Post Apoc went quickly...

LPC 29: Wendigo

The Canadian came closer in the darkness. He shook his head. "I guess not, " he said, though without overwhelming conviction. "It must 've been jest that song of mine that did it. It's the song they sing in lumber-camps and god-forsaken places like that, when they're skeered the Wendigo's somewheres around, doin' a bit of swift travellin' -----"

"And what's the Wendigo, pray?" Simpson asked quickly, irritated because again he could not prevent that sudden shiver of the nerves. He knew that he was close upon the man's terror and the cause of it. Yet a rushing passionate curiosity overcame his better judgement, and his fear.

Defago turned swiftly and looked at him as though he were about to shriek. His eyes shone, his mouth was wide open. Yet all he said, or whispered rather, for his voice sank very low, was:

"It's nuthin' - nuthin' but what those lousy fellers believe when they've been hittin' the bottle too long - a sort of great animal that lives up yonder," he jerked his head northwards, "quick as lightning in its tracks, an' bigger'n anything else in the Bush, an' ain't supposed to be very good to look at - that's all!"
The Wendigo, by Algernon Blackwood

Wicked fun to paint!!! This guy (I think...) is an AEWW2 model...called (again...I think...) a Wendigo. A wonderful figure, not often you get to paint soooooooo many guts!

Thanks for reminding me that figure existed.  I am definitely picking one up.

One other note on the reaper bones fishmen: I've noticed that most everybody is snipping off that weird proboscis on them. Though I must say, I'd do exactly the same myself.

I have two (non-bones) on my painting table, assembled and undercoated last year. And I did exactly the same thing back then. lol

Won't post those to the circle either. :-I

I wanted to paint the belly very pale on mine, but I ran out of the green grey paint to mix up with white. I have ordered some more from Black Hat; hopefully it arrives in time for me to paint the next one  :D

LPC 29: Wendigo

Hideously good! .... and incidentally a damn site better than the truly awful film of the same name. No really, don't bother, it's not even worth watching out of curiosity because you'll blame me for stealing 2 hours of your life.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.
