Ghoul2:  “It was a colossal and nameless blasphemy with glaring red eyes, and it held in bony claws a thing that had been a man, gnawing at the head as a child nibbles at a stick of candy. Its position was a kind of crouch, and as one looked one felt that at any moment it might drop its present prey and seek a juicier morsel.” (“Pickman’s Model”).

Cheers.

That's an excellent idea! I have a bunch of them lying around myself, may have to pinch this for some Strange Aeons zombies! Nice work on the paintjob as well!

Nah, much as we love Cthulhu, he isn't one of the Outer Gods, just their High Priest.

Number 100 should be Azathoth itself, the Sultan of Chaos (and swing)! o_o

Seems the Mythos minded do think alike. After admiring the Reaper Cthulhu I finally took the plunge and picked him up, and then instead of finishing any of the multitude of figures I have, some already assembled and primed, I decided that this Circle needed the big guy represented and so began work on him, hoping to get him finished in time. Eh, painting circle or not, it's a great sculpt that I'll be glad to have finished no matter what.
We haul ours to kick theirs.

LPC 83 Servant of the Old Ones

-the thing that had been his brother-which now, where the top of Hamilton's head had been, wore a cap of writhing white worms of finger thickness, like some monstrous sea-anemone sucking vampirishly at the still-living brain!
The Fairground Horror, by Brian Lumley

So...the tentacles got longer...and greener...still, hopefully the quote justifies this absolutely wonderful model.  :-*

It was one of the winners of a Frothers sculpting contest a few years ago.  Recently discussed here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=64008.0

Really hope to see it back in production at some point - it's a gorgeous figure and a real pleasure to paint.

LPC #84 The Watcher

"But the horror was not in the thing's form, despite being an aberration far beyond earthly nature. The horror emanated from the thing's single, massive eye-an eye that was the lone feature of the pendulous fleshy sack. There was no obvious mouth, ears or any other organ; simply an enormous, viscous eye that gazed directly at Chambers as if he were a specimen of marginal interest."

The Watcher from the Void, Eric Frank Silver, 1936

Wow, Bob, that's scary. Tremendous piece of horror!

I don't think I have seen the miniature before, is it something of your creations?
