Chain of Command in the Western Desert
« on: February 12, 2014, 12:38:26 PM »
I finished Quints DAK a couple of weeks ago and we have been waiting for an opportunity to pit them against my Indians. A cancelled game yesterday evening gave us our chance so we had a crack at the 'Delaying Action' scenario with the Indians trying to push aside the AfrikaKorps.

Well, I enjoyed it!

Tell me Scrivs, what are you using for Jump-Off Points?

Cheers

Thanks chaps.

Quint was using a set of crates, I was using one set of Indian Porters, one set of Pack Mules and a Bedford truck. I quite like using trucks as Jump-Off points, as if the troops are debussing.

Is it quite common for CoC games to played up the length of the table? Seems like I've seen that in a lot of photos of CoC games.

Looks great. I would have been most perturbed if a mighty 'Queen of the Desert' had been undone by a Panzer III or anti-tank rifle!

Fine report sirrah.

The delaying action scenario specifically does play along the table. Other actions can end up playing along the table due to the placement of the jump-off points after the patrol phase.

Good idea on the use of trucks as Jump-Off points. I'd have never thought of that  :D

In the Probe scenario the defender can choose to set up on a  short edge and it is usually advantageous for them to do so..
