Hi folks!

Have you seen this?

http://oldglory25s.com/index.php?cat_id=810&catname='25mm%20Western%20Wagons'

Wow!  I like that  :-*

I'm thinking, lose the horses and add some steam gubbins to make it into a VSF conveyance  :)

The horses will always be useful for other carts, wagons etc.

I've been trying to scratchbuild a War Wagon for over a year. I even took measurements off of photos of the wagon box, sitting on the movie studios back lot. I made several attempts but was not happy with the results. I ordered one when I first saw them on the Old Glory site.

It is a really nice wagon. The only thing I changed was that I didn't like the look of the gatling gun that came with the wagon, so I swapped it out with one from a civil war gatling gun.
Jane! Stop this crazy thing!

Does it come with any "crew?"  Might just be time to do that 3:10 to Yuma stage robbery scenario...

The armoured stagecoach certainly existed. Someone else is going to have to tell you whether they did any with gatlings though. The one I've seen photographed certainly didn't have one.

The model is inspired by a John Wayne movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062472/

Historically many mining companies used armored wagons but none I've ever seen, which is only three, went with much beyond some light bits of steel around the driver. I have serious doubts as to turrets and gatlings as speed was the more important issue. The horses are just too vulnerable for a shootout.

Yes, the War Wagon (Die gewaltigen ind erman). A nice movie, but you can't watch it in german as Kirk Douglas has the german voice of the duke in most of waynes movies, and the voice used for him is best described as Mickey Mouse.

The Old Glory War Wagon dies not have any crew. The drivers box is one solid piece. It would be possible to build a new drivers box if you wanted to add a driver.

I'm confused.  ???

Do you mean Kirk Douglas speaks German in the (dubbed?) versions of John Wayne movies?

And that they then got somebody else to do Kirk Douglas' voice in German in "The Warwagon"?

No, but the german voice of most John Wayne Movies was used for Kirk Douglas in the german version of The War Wagon. It's been a deep, sonoric voice, and the speaker made synchronisation for Wayne and on occasion Douglas and AFAIK even Bob Mitchum. There are only 3 Movies starring wayne & Douglas together, two of them not very well known in germany. So every german hearing that voice takes it for the duke.

For the crew: The war wagon driver is inside, so you can't see them.
