A little while ago, my mate Matt and I finished our SS3 campaign and much fun was had by all, despite Matt being plagued with bad dice rolls for most of it! He ran a Lovecraftian group (The Magus, Mi-Go, Shoggoth, Dimensional Shambler and Deep One), whereas I ran my Threshold crew. We played one of each scenario from the rulebook and these were the final two: Ambush and The Rescue. , there will only be a short AAR for each and below will be my final stats for my group, if anyone is interested...
AMBUSH!!![/b]
Sabrecat, Dust Devil and Monsoon had all been trapped by The Lovecraftians, Senor Fortuno and Ghost Face were trying to come to their comrades aid, but it’d take some time to get there. Assuming leadership, Sabrecat barked the order for Dust Devil to get out, fast. The young lad was unwilling to leave his friends but followed orders under protests and zoomed away to find Senor Fortuno and Ghost Face. The Magus mind controlled the weaker willed Monsoon and made her throw a big car at Sabrecat! A lesser man would be but a wet patch on the street from that hit, but thanks to Sabrecat’s forged will, he remains standing, but only just, and he’s trapped under a car! With an almost superhuman effort he gathers all his physical might and mental resolve and tries to at least move the car away from his trapped body, his muscles are straining and his mind is aching, there’s blood coming from his nostrils but wonder of wonders, he manage to move it just enough to crawl free!!
In the following seconds, Sabrecat wastes no time in getting the hell out of Dodge, he leaves bloody footprints on his way making it easy to track him, but help is at hand, Senor Fortuno and Ghost Face arrive to give a helping hand! Senor Fortuno lay down heavy covering fire and Ghost Face rushes in to the rescue, meanwhile, The Magus once again mind control Monsoon and she takes another vehicle and throws it, at Senor Fortuno this time, but as he’s able to pull the strands of Probability, the car never even gets close! Monsoon regains her senses and becomes really, really angry at what she was made to do to her two team mates, she picks up a large sedan and hammers Deep One with it, beating him to a pulp in the process and wraps him up in the metal shell. Ghost Face and Senor Fortuno join forces and take Shoggoth down, allowing everyone in the team to escape. Sabrecat just needs a little time to heal his wounds.
(In the case of Sabrecat, STR 4, we agreed on that he could do a Strain manoeuvre but he needed 5 Goals to flip the car over, because it was a cool thing to try.)
THE RESCUE.[/b]
A seemingly mild mannered scientist had been paid by Threshold to join them and help out putting a stop to the Eldritch beings pursuit in throwing the earth as we know it into Chaos!!! The Lovecraftians were going to liberate the scientist and use him for their own twisted purposes, but unbeknownst to anyone of the two parties, the scientist had been possessed by a daemonic spirit that just waited for his chance to sow discord!!! Ghost Face himself decided to pilot the Astral Shuttle and was en route to pick up his team.
The battle started with Sabrecat moving the timid scientist up on a rooftop, Dimensional Shambler Warped in and made a grab for the scientist, gaining control over him and lashed out at Sabrecat, who agilely avoided the blow. Dimensional Shambler was not strong enough to carry the scientist with him so growled for support. Dust Devil rushed in and tried to distract the Dimensional Shambler, but they were evenly matched in speed and ferocity!!!
The Mi-Go closes in to try to help his team mate out but to everyone’s surprise, the scientist is literally disappearing in a mystic cloud of sulphur and in his stead there is a snarling beast from The Nether Realms!!!
The Lovecraftians cackle and escape into the night leaving Threshold standing there with empty hands and an enraged daemon!!
