Unfeasibly Miniatures Exotic Adventures Range Re-released
« on: February 25, 2014, 03:30:36 PM »
We are very pleased to announce that we are now producing the Unfeasibly Miniatures Exotic Adventures range of 28mm French Foreign Legion and Tuareg figures under license.

Exotic Adventures depicts the French Foreign Legion at the turn of the 19th Century in Northern Africa, immortalised in the  stories of Beau Geste by P.C. Wren.  The range includes Tauregs, who resisted the French colonial invasion of their Central Saharan homelands.

They can be purchased here:

http://www.blackhat.co.uk/online_shop/index.php?cPath=121_209

We have two new packs to release soon and work has started on the mounted troops.

I seem to recall they were unavailable for quite a while, so that's good news. They are nice figures. I have some of the Tuaregs.

Nice to see them back, though my original purchases still languish in the lead pile.

Did the Tuaregs fight anyone besides the French?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

yes they fought very probaly also the Italians at the extreme border of Lybia towards Chad..some Tuaregs or Tuareg's influenced warriors fought along Senussis....but when i said Italians i'm speaking obviously about native Camel Troopers and, in general, Lybian auxiliairies..in those latitudes Europeans where employed only as specialists/officers/ncos

Returning to the post heading i must say that those FFL range look very nice ..i own some Tuareg from that manufacture and like them..good proportions and very clean..
but same remark as above: A part from Hollywood is snrealistic to field Foreign Legionaires Vs Tuaregs...the only french forces to deal with them both in Algeria, Mali ecc...where the Tirailleurs Sénégalais..both foot and Camel Mounted  ones...Maybe a good idea could be to expand the range with appropriate Camel Mounted troops like the above mentioned Tirailleurs on Camels..and above all with the beautiful Méharistes/Compagnies Sahariennes (like the French moovie "Fort Saganne")

Yup.There's already a pack listed in barrack dress.

We have two new packs to release soon and work has started on the mounted troops.

Will you be using the same sculptor? Richard Ansell wasn't it? I hope you do, these are really nice!

Mark @ Unfeasibly is in charge of commissioning and getting stuff sculpted I am merely moulding things and selling them  :)

But yes, as far as I know Mark is still going to use Richard for the sculpting.

Just spent an excellent afternoon with Mike from Black Hat Miniatures, dollies for the mounted French Foreign Legion figures are all ready to be sent for their final finish - looking forward to getting them back.

Also have the Tauregs being painted by Alan from The Missing Geek - will post here and use  in webstore.

Would anyone be so kind as to let me know how do the Unfeeasibly offerings for the Tuaregs compare size and bulk wise to the Artizan offerings (bottom pic)?

If at all possible I'd love to see a size comparison and and/or perhaps some psinted up? I know, I do ask a lot of you guys at times  :).

Don't have any Artizan North Africans, but here is a size comparison of a Tirailleur from the same "March or Die" range and an Unfeasibly Tuareg:

With their slender frames, slightly shorter stature and more accurate and realistic proportions they do look rather weedy around the big and chunky Artizan figures.
