WW2 Sub project finished...now what was I doing again?
« on: 23 June 2008, 03:34:13 AM »
Just posted pictures of the U-boat to the greens pages on our site.  It's basically consumed my life for the past month or so.  It's 1/56 scale..and the figures on the hull are 28mm German Mountain Troops from Brigade Games. The u-boat is meant to be more of a terrain piece than a scale model...in that it's a little simplified, can come apart in 4 pieces, and should probably be used as the game table.  But, if you want to have it hunt and sink your steam tramper, be my guest!

Oh, yeah, the U-boat is about 36 inches long...

Now that it is out of the way and casting, I can get back to proper models, like the Schwimwagen, Back of Beyond armored cars and additional train cars.

Sub will be exclusive from Brigade Games.  Look for details soon!  A nice assortment of flak and deck guns have been made for it as well.

Great work Brent! I'm sure Lon will be very happy with your work.

Michael told me he had finished the deck gun and AA variants and was very happy with the results.

Thanks again for posting the news.
Best wishes,
Helen

Very attractive.
Are you still planning to make alternative conning towers for different nations/versions ?

Very cool  ;)

I'm very pleased to hear about the Schwimwagen. Will there be crew?

From Lon on his Yahoo group:

"For those going to Historicon -

this is a partial list of what we will be releasing:

EEP006 WW2 UBoat Crew I (recently released)

EEP007 WW2 UBoat Crew II (recently released)

EEP008 WW2 UBoat Raft Crew with Paddles (2)

We will be taking preorders for the following which will be released 3-4 weeks after the
convention. Despite our best efforts from all involved we just could not make the timeline.
We will have these on display at our booth so ypu can see what you will be ordering:

WW2 German U-Boat (36" long, 3 sections plus conning tower)
Raft for German Uboat
8.8 cm gun for Uboat
3.7 cm gun for Uboat
2 cm gun for Uboat
2 cm dual gun for Uboat
2 cm quad gun for Uboat."
