SuperSystem 4th Play-Test: Villain Mission Force!
« on: March 02, 2014, 04:46:10 PM »
Last night I ran a great play-test of SuperSystem 4th ed. featuring Marvel characters from the 1980's in my Villain Mission Force setting.  We took a few pics to mark the occasion!

Above, my buddy Rico sculpted street clothes onto a Blob Heroclix--he looked awesome! While a bit overpowered for VMF, they needed Blob for what was to come.

Skrull majordomo Rothby briefs the team on their mission--bring back a Wendigo DNA sample from the Great North Woods of Canada!  There was a $250K bonus for bringing back Wendy intact!

After a fight at the airport against Beast and Nighthawk, the team later tangled with 3 members of Alpha Flight--Sasquatch, Puck, and Shaman.

The final battle against Wendigo was awesome--they also had to battle Diablo and his Earth Elemental sidekick.

I was very happy with the way the rues performed.  Going to make some tweaks here and there, but the game worked well in this more RPG-like setting.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks!  The unlikely team assigned to get Wendigo was:

Blob, Pyro, Toad, Vulture, and Bullseye.

Here's the adventure write-up:

Redacted!  I plan to run this at Gen Con this summer, so I don't want to spoil any surprises for players there!

Sorry!

Sounds really interesting, especially from a solo point of view. Scenario driven games are the key of an interesting solo gaming.

Got another play-test game brewing tonight!  The line-up:

Batroc
Beetle
Electro
Mad Thinker & Awesome Android
Vulture

Don't want to give too much away, but the story is entitled "Back to the Future" and involves Kang, John DeLorean, and time travel!

Tremendous game on Saturday night!

I wanted to take a moment to share the conversion and paint job on a custom Batroc I did.  The official 'Clix Batroc lacks certain qualities--he's out of scale with most 'Clix and his details are soft.

Anyway, I made my own from a Copperhead body and a Swordsman head--and my friend Sky sculpted on a new face mask, mustache, and goatee!

Check him out!

I might add some pics from the adventure later--thanks for looking!

Loving the villain teams. I was also a fan of those in the past in the comics (Task Force X, Freedom Force.) Inspirational ideas.
